RESEARCH

Research Overview

The overall objective of the forWater Network is to provide new knowledge and innovation to protect drinking water from source to tap in a changing climate. Targeting transfer of knowledge to support communities to adapt to increased risks associated with changing climatic trends and natural disturbances. Research specifically develops knowledge to support:
  • Public policy for forest management and source water protection
  • Source water protection technology development
  • Utility-specific drinking water safety plans and source water protection plans
  • Development of best management practices for forest management

The forWater Network is generating new knowledge and tools for cumulative watershed effects assessment, source water protection, and enhanced water treatability in four key areas.
